About
Purpose
We recognize that finding clear, essential information about the U.S. 23 projects can be challenging and time-consuming. This website was created to bridge that gap by providing easy, organized access to the information you need.
Mission
To provide clear, comprehensive information and to highlight community feedback and independent analysis that supports sensible improvements to the U.S. 23 corridor without building a new freeway.
Vision
Our vision is a safer, more efficient U.S. 23 corridor improved through practical, community-supported upgrades to the existing route, rather than the construction of a new freeway. The aim is to promote long-term mobility, reduce congestion, and support sustainable growth through a strategic, phased approach to modernizing the existing U.S. 23 corridor.
What We Support
Phased Improvements with a Long-Term Strategy
We support a practical, phased approach that begins with the 23 Connect improvements and advances toward a long-term strategy—one that ultimately completes U.S. 23 by converting the remaining section near I-270 into a fully access-controlled freeway.
Benefits for All Users, Not Just Freight
We support transportation investments that deliver meaningful benefits to residents, families, businesses, and local communities—not projects designed primarily to move long-distance freight at the expense of local access and safety.
Responsible Use of Taxpayer Dollars
We support fiscally responsible investments that deliver strong public value, avoid unnecessary duplication, and prioritize projects with clear safety, congestion, and cost-benefit advantages.
Reliable, Predictable Travel
We support solutions that improve travel time reliability so people can count on consistent trips throughout the day, not just marginal time savings during peak freight movements.
Improved Safety for Everyone
We support proven safety improvements that reduce crashes and serious injuries for all users of the U.S. 23 corridor, including local drivers, commuters, emergency services, and freight traffic.
What We Don’t Support
We do not support the construction of a new U.S. 23 to I-71 connector freeway because existing studies show high costs, limited benefits, and significant community and environmental impacts compared to improving the corridor we already have.
